Cross country bicycle peace ride starts Saturday By Stephen Bartlett, Politico's U.S. News and Kentucky Information Blog Louisville KY Monday, October 29, 2007 Friends of the Planet, I thought you might be interested to know about this creative project called Peace Transit. I will be among the first team of riders to launch the baton on its route across the continent, by carrying the baton down to Bardstown, Kentucky this Saturday Nov 3 (and riding back the next day, no fossil fuels used in this effort), for its relay this autumn down to New Orleans, Louisiana. We are trying to connect the dots between lifestyle, transportation, energy, climate change and war, and spin/peddle the spin (walk the talk). See the Gandhian imagery! And we are acting on faith, faith that others will come into possession of the baton, and feel motivated to carry it further south. This is a message in a bottle we are throwing into the sea and asking people to toss it into other currents, and see where it goes and how it moves people! It would be great to see you at the inaugural ceremony next Saturday morning, or at least know you are dreaming of peace at that time, snug in bed.
