Louisville's political leadership has forgotten:
- $4.00 per gallon gasoline in 2008,
- we are loosing rural land to infrastructure sprawl,
- ice caps are melting and the ocean levels are rising as you read this.
Louisville does not need more automotive infrastructure and dependency.
Louisville needs good public transit and safe streets for pedestrians and cyclists.
We need to reject the plan for two Ohio River bridges.
We need to reject the other two automotive infrastructure concepts - 8664 and the downtown bridge plan.
We need to reject plans to build more parking in Louisville.
We need to reject JCPS's transportation plan.
We need to embrace a new vision of transportation for Louisville.
Louisville's leadership is not supporting good public transit and safe streets for pedestrians and cyclists.
If they will not lead, it is up to you and I to change Louisville's transportation by taking the streets.
Do your kids a favor, ride your bike in the middle of the traffic lane and stay there - year round.
Walk to the grocery store (move to a neighborhood where this is possible if you must).
Ride TARC.
Insist on your kids being able to walk or bicycle to school.
